Section 92.3.1
EGR Low Flow Leak Check

Check as follows:‪

1. Turn the ignition ON (key ON, engine OFF).
2. Using DDDL 7.X, perform the Turbo Hysteresis test.
   1. If the Turbo Hysteresis test fails, refer to refer to "6.5 Turbocharger (Diesel)" in the EPA07 Series 60 Workshop Manual (DDC-SVC-MAN-0005) for turbo diagnostics.
   2. If the Turbo Hysteresis test passes, go to step 3 .
3. Check EGR valve operation. Command PWM1 to 50% while monitoring "EGR Actual Position." Does "EGR Actual Position" read between 48-52%?
   1. Yes, go to step 4 .
   2. No, go to step 5 .
4. Command PWM1 to 90% while monitoring "EGR Actual Position." Does "EGR Actual Position" read between 88-92%?
   1. Yes, go to step 8 .
   2. No, go to step 5 .
5. Turn the ignition OFF.
6. Disconnect EGR Valve Harness connector.
7. Inspect connector for damaged, corroded pins.
   1. If damage is found, repair as necessary.
   2. If no damaged pins are found, replace the EGR Valve. Refer to "92.3.1.1 Verify Repairs" .
8. Remove and inspect air filter for plugging.
   1. If plugged replace air filter. Refer to "92.3.1.1 Verify Repairs" .
   2. If air filter checks OK, go to step 9 .
9. Inspect all EGR delivery pipes for leaks or blockage.
   1. Service intake air system as necessary. Refer to "92.3.1.1 Verify Repairs" .
   2. If no issues are found with EGR delivery pipes, obtain DDDL log file of failure and contact the Detroit Diesel Customer Support Center (313–592–5800) for further instruction.

Section 92.3.1.1
Verify Repairs

Verify repairs as follows:‪

1. Turn ignition OFF.
2. Reconnect any electrical connections that were disconnected to perform the diagnosis.
3. Clear codes with DDDL 7.0 or latest version.
4. Start and bring engine up to operating temperature (over 140°F/60°C).
5. Verify operation is satisfactory and no warning lamps illuminate. If warning lamps illuminate, troubleshoot the codes. If assistance is required, call the Detroit Diesel Customer Support Center at 313–592–5800.
